The walls of Cool Air hold many memories since its beginning in 1953. They whisper of families who have returned for as many as 30 yrs. , making vacation memories with children and grandchildren. Having the strength to withstand major storms, Cool Air has remained resilient as Hurricanes Hazel and Hugo visited. Favorites among guests continue to be the spacious parking and porches for lots of rocking or watching children of all ages enjoying a large oceanfront yard. After a private walk over the sea oat-protected dunes, shell collectors comb the beautiful beach for this year’s treasures of olives, turrets, and conchs as seagulls and pelicans fly overhead and waves rush to the shore. Things that really matter about family gatherings haven’t changed much here at Cool Air but precious memories continue being made as the walls hold them dear.
